Baseball and breakfast

The only difference between a normal marriage and a separated one is... when you end up drinking all evening and coming home sorta hungry and with the head spins and making an omelette with ham, onions, mushrooms and cheese at 12:30 am while listening to Sinatra and Ella... you do it alone.

But this goddamn omelette is delicious.

This is my friend Greg "Birdman" Wilson, (left) who turned 41 tonight. I took him to a Cardinals game, which we won 11-3. We exhibited our massive knowledge of the game of baseball by drinking.

There is most definitely something special about a night at the ball park, with the lights, the game and the suspense. And the Bud Light guy who came around regularly to make sure we were properly nourished. It was 93 degrees at game-time. Drinking was a dehydration-prevention safety procedure at that point.

I won't lie to you, we got fairly trashed. Afterward, we went to what could only be described as "college girl night" at Harpo's in Chesterfield. It made me feel old.

Happy birthday Birdman. I'm tipping up a steaming mug of coffee to you tonight, while I enjoy this drunken omelette and Sinatra music.

I'm on holiday for a few days. I am not leaving town, so I will most likely continue blogging during my time off. Sorry, no break for you!

It's clear you did what had to be done. You were helping a friend to celebrate, saturating yourself to avoid heat exhaustion, partying at a pub in the name of reminiscing, eating to quell those nasty midnight munchies, and hopefully taking instruction from Frank to have "One More For the Road." Yep. You're definitely a git er done type of guy. Gotta love it.

I went to the game on Tuesday night, it was college girl's night out for me and some friends. A night at the ballpark is priceless. I am not even that much of a baseball fan, but it is still so much fun to go to the game. I am sad that it is the last year for Busch.

I propose putting a cup of beer on every base which must be chugged before a runner advances. Every time the pitcher gives up a hit, he drinks a beer. This game could really start to get interesting...

I've only been to one Cubs game this year, which sets me way under my usual 8 game pace. I am, however, slumming it for the 4th of July game at the Cell. Go White Sox.

I haven't had a chance to get to a Red Sox game yet this year. Looks like you guys had fun. It's always great to see a game when you're team is winning. And, clearly, getting trashed was a neccessity in that heat.

Mr. Scoop has postulated that the best way to watch a game is with a beer hat and a pair of Depends.

Sadly, the ridiculous greed of the MLB has spoiled me on baseball forever. However, I loudly applaud your beer drinking.

Nothing like a drunk night at a ball game! OH what fun!!

Bill was there last night also, he was in one of those air conditioned catered rooms. Said he had fun.

Hopefully we will be seeing you soon.

If you don't have plans on the 3rd or the 4th, come hang out with us.

Like the beard, Dave, like the beard. :)

And I disagree with LBB, I think breakfast food always tastes best when one's besotted.
