Spirals & Cycles

A fellow by the handle of DJOG on flickr.com posted a picture today I found thought provoking.

On the left, of course, is hurricane Katrina prior to landfall. On the right, a spiral galaxy somewhere in the universe. The similarities are striking.

Cycles, waves and spirals seem to be that of which the universe is comprised. Without getting too ethereal, I believe everything exists in waves, spirals, cycles. Random and unkempt as it may seem, there is order and pattern. If you step back far enough from the chaos, you'll see the spirals.

And cycles.

That is cool. We got the side effects from Katrina, but it hasn't been too bad here so far!

I had a similar theory about circles being the rule of order: atoms, molecules, solar systems, galaxys, universes are all circular/spiral systems. Ah well, time to go sink one and watch it spiral down the hole.

Beautiful fractal images there. Fibonacci would be so proud.
Yes, I am a weenie.

I must say that I've always firmly believed life comes around full circle - eventually. Sometimes, when you least expect it.
