White flag, anyone?

Courtesy of Steve Mays:

"What if we tell the Islamic terrorists (Sorry, I do think it is a religion thing) we give up. You win."

Link to his column, short and sweet. An interesting perspective.

Unfortunately, they win a little more as time goes on. Remember the days we could just get an airplane with no baggage checks or personal checkpoint. Heck, we could even walk on to the plane with the passenger prior to flight if we needed to. What a shame it has come to this.
Dave, thanks for the post at "the Castle". It seems sensible, and made me laugh too!

Sadly, I have to wonder if even surrender would satisfy those nutbags. At this point it's doubtful, but I found this piece interesting and in fact, his entire blog looks pretty creative. I loved the simple photo and post on "standing in line." A one-line post that was so clever!

Thanks for being a faithful reader even when I go AWOL for a bit.

Cleverly put.

Lee Ann, I agree, I resent the treatment at the airport... you can't even go to the gate to greet people anymore. Although now I have an excuse to stay in the car and meet 'em at the curb.

Carol/Couch Potato, Steve's blog was the reason I started my own. I can never equal his creativity and balance, but he's to blame for this.

Avik, what can I say. Nothing seems to work, but I'd rather not die so...

When the red army came to tibet, the monks lined up and quietly marched calmly one by one into the machine guns rather than create more violence by picking up weapons of their own. Someone is not proven right just because they have the means and motivation by which to take your life. If we surrender our fear of them and what they represent, maybe their power will whither and fade like dust in the wind. Or from another angle, one cannot effectively strike an empty sheet.
