Don't get me wrong, I'm not about hatin'...

... but I cannot force myself to be sad about this story.

Russian Spammer Beaten To Death

My favorite quote from the article: "The case is being treated as murder though no motive has yet been established."

No MOTIVE? Ha hahahaha! Call me cold or mean, but I can think of a million people who, if assured nobody would find out, would take a few solid swings at a spammer in a dark alley. These people invade privacy to peddle their unwelcome products, most of them offensive or pornographic, and many reaching children. I am so sick of clicking "delete" 100 times an hour I could just... well... not kill a guy, but dang I'm sick of it.

I'm sorry you had to die, sir, I truly am.

But good riddance to your spam.

I'm a bad person. I am positive I'm going straight to hell.

I know a few people that feel that way or worse about hackers!

It's a new breed of vigilante justice.

Batten the hatches, kids. It's a brave new world.

Sometime, in the not too distant future, AOL will leave spammers impaled on pikes around it's headquarters as a warning to others.

And I'll giggle. That people are still using AOL.

I certainly hope it wasn't the guy who mailed me about helping him get his millions out of Zimbabwe.

After all a prince wouldn't lie, right?!?!

Now where DID I put my checking account numbers...

It'll probably turn out that he beat himself to death because he was so sorry about all the trouble he was causing. Sure it will.

You're not going to hell. Spammers are going to hell. and I still use AOL. I'm just too lazy to switch. It's a lot of work to send a mass email saying "I've switched email addresses".

You mean there are other service providers? I've had my head stuck so far up AOL's ass for the past nine years that I hardly noticed.

I'm sitting here happily humming Monty Python's Spam song: "SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAM!" I'm goin to hell with you then Dave cause I enjoyed it too.

Don't worry though, we'll soon have enough government regulations and safety content monitoring on the internet that you won't be able to write "shit" on your blog, or anybody elses, without setting off the federal claxons. Spam will be a thing of the past.

Well, now he can send spam from Hell. Isn't that where it comes from anyway?
