Weekend Poetry

Whispers

If you really listen,
You can hear
Whispers on the wind.

As a child,
I perceived it as
Little more than
The rustle of leaves
Or the quiet sigh of
A bird’s wing.

Now,
I hear.

Life speaks to us,
Its lessons sometimes
Bold and brash…
Others times,
Soft,
Quiet,
Gently hidden in the
Bustle of our lives
Like a vague,
Distant,
Haunting harmony.

You just
Have to listen.

That's my problem: I don't listen. I wait for Life to whap me upside the head, for some reason?! Every time.

That was lovely...and so true.
You just have to listen sometimes. It is amazing what you can hear!
Have a great weekend Dave!

Awwww! Nicely written. I'm just guessing that percocet was involved in some way?
