Idol??? Hello???

Quick entry - it's a throw-away, but...

You have got to be fucking kidding me.

As an American Idol viewer, I have reached the conclusion that it is no longer a talent show, it's a popularity contest.

Sabrina Sloan was booted, while Haley Scarnato stayed in??

Again, you have got to be fucking kidding me.

I'm watching via Tivo delay right now, so the show is over, but I haven't seen who else is booted. If Sanjaya (Mowgli from Jungle Book) makes it, I will not be watching this show anymore... it will have proven itself a farce.

Who am I kidding... it's a joke of a show anyway.

I'm out...

"Farce" is SUCH an accurate term for this show.

I heard on the radio this morning on the drive into work that the contestants have one hour to pick out their song for the evening, but get TWO hours to choose wardrobe. Doesn't anyone else see the irony here?

Yeah well... guess you won't be watching. Personally, I had cut down from three nights a week to one, but only because I have a mildly vested interest in Melinda Doolittle winning. Even if she doesn't have a neck. But I am more than willng to find something better to do with my time. I am actually considering... (get this)...reading a book. I know. I wouldn't believe it either. I have an idea for my next fortune. How about an "Idol" withdrawal patch?

Since when was it EVER a talent show? It's absolutely a popularity contest and a farce. I can't believe so many people like it so much. Didn't we all get enough of that in high school?

...although I'm intrigued by what happened to piss you off so much, lol. Almost makes me wish I'd watched more than the first season.

Guess your AI days are over with this season... America really buggered this one up last night.

Yes, I was pretty disgusted at the end when they booted Sundance instaed of Sanjaya. It's all messed up. Hopefully, it will be the end of the road for him next week, don't want to have to listen to him too many more times.

When they announced that Sabrina was ousted - I yammered at the TV set for about 30 seconds non-stop. WTF?
In that season where the same shocker happened to Chris Daughtry (sp), the shows ratings hit the roof after that - I would really really hate to think the numbers are fixed in some way - but I've been heartbroken by lesser men in my day.
Bleh.

(oh, and I fucking LOVE your comparison for Sanjaya - precious! I will not miss Sundance one iota - thought he was WAY overrated, but still - even he could blow the pipes off Sanjaya)

I was pretty pissed when Sanjaya was voted in and Sundance out too.. BUT I think in a few years Sanjaya might get pretty good. You can hear some talent there. He just won't let it out. I do think he should be the first to go though. He just isn't good enough yet to be in the top 12.

I don't think the show is fixed per say. I just think America is voting wrong. I also think it should be only 1 vote per phone number.

You could see how pissed Paula, Randy and Simon were that Sanjaya made the top 12 and Sundance isn't. I don't really think that was acting. Of course what do I know :)

Not for nothing but, I'm sitting here drunkenly singing alone to Tenacious D's "Tribute" and I sound better than every single person that has ever been on American Idol ever. Ever.

But I'm too old to audition so, oh well.

I won't watch. Chris Daughtry was my American Idol. But who the hell needs to win? Chris' band has the number 1 album in the country!
