You guard your hopes
And you pocket your dreams
You'd trade it all
To avoid an unpleasant scene
Can you face the fire when you see me there
Can you feel the fire will you love me
In the dark...
And you pocket your dreams
You'd trade it all
To avoid an unpleasant scene
Can you face the fire when you see me there
Can you feel the fire will you love me
In the dark...
Billy Squire's "In The Dark" was going through my head last night as I waited for the electricity to come back on. Most of the north side of O'Fallon had no electricity, after yet ANOTHER storm blew through and knocked out juice to 40,000 customers. This, just one day after they restored power from the last outage of over a half-million houses.
Of course I had my laptop with full batteries and a Cingular air card, so I didn't miss any internet time. I wonder what that says about me...
Anyway, power's back on now. Trees are still down all over and if you step outside, you can hear the sound of a hundred chainsaws drifting across the countryside.

Nine months from now your area will be hit with a baby wave. Because you know what people do when they are bored. ;-) Well besides you playing on the Internets... well that COULD be a form of baby makin' if you really think about it it. haha
Strange year we are having, yes? Record heat waves, fires and power outages. I think it is time america rethought their take on cutting down forestation and looked more into improving old unused building sites.
Just my thought on the whole shebang :)
I'm with the chick - I think there will be a baby wave...
LOL at you that you were still able to surf the net - you would get along great with my Hubby.
I'm double-sorry for you. Sorry that your power went out, and sorry that you had Billy Squire stuck in your head.
I had power at my house... You coulda come over here instead of sittin' in the dark.
Or, we could have watched a movie in the back of your truck...
I love power outages..they're great fun, and a perfect excuse for being late for work and sleeping in. :-)
got here through strange channels- just clicking away today- but I'm in your area, too. fortuately, we did not lose power, but what nightmare!!
There are worse things to have running through your head than a Billy Squire song in the midst of a blackout. Anything by Ricky Martin, for example.
That is a beautiful picture.
Glad you have your power back on!
At least he didn't have "Everybody have you heard...if you're in the game, a little stroke's the word" in his head.
Actually, I love that song. And I'm not ashamed to say it!
That's a great song Dave, but I can't think of "scary" Billy Squire the same way after being drunk after a concert he hit on me on the air. Me. Me? On the air? Bastard. Number one, don't EVER get drunk on the air (shaddup, it was 1983) and two, what the hell do you say to that? Live. No delay. Rat fuck. Great song, though. Punk.
