Emily brought me a gift yesterday from her toy stash at her Mom's house.
I can't put it down. I am actually conducting slinky stress tests, doing slinky acrobatics, doing the ear-to-mouth slinky phone, and a few other things I can't go into right now.
Remember the slinky smell? The noise it makes? How it walks down the stairs? It's almost like I'm reliving my childhood.

I am waiting for the Slinky that walks UPstairs.
Just dropping in with a smile and hug to say hello!

So that's what you got when you asked Emily to bring home something slinky?
It's slink-eee, it's slink-eee...
Now I've got that song in my head.
Gotta love Slinky - I need to go find my old one.
HEY! Just wanted to say Hello and see what has been going on in your world. Even though we live so close I still never see you. I was hanging out with Greenwood yesterday at the station...ahh...good times!! :)
I like how they tried to bring it back a few years ago with the "mini" slinky. Don't fix it if it ain't broken! (Though the small ones are fun too.)
So, I'm at my mom's house, sorting through piles and piles of stuff, talking to Dave on the phone, complaining about how I don't know what to do with half the stuff I'm finding, and I'll probably just throw it all out. I mention that I've found a couple Slinkies.
"Slinkies! Bring one home to me!"
Oooooo-kay.... Who knew that I could earn so many brownie points and provide so much entertainment with a single piece of curled metal?!?!
We had some promotional "plastic" slinkyies that I found at work a few months ago. They are fun, but no where near the original :)
Max...
The sound is a unique imprint into my childhood, but I think it's the smell I remember more than anything.
That and utilizing the slinky into an Erector Set project known simply as the "Smashing Gears of Pain" (Don't ask)
Slinkies rule!!!! I have at least two around here. Hours of amusement. Even when I'm sober.
So glad to read you got a Slinky. I know how you feel.
Today I went to a candy shop and bought a bunch of 1" jawbreakers. Haven't had them since I was a kid.
Totally brought me back to my youth.
I have brought over a dozen slinkies home, so my kids could feel the joy of this splended invention. Without fail, every freaking time, it ends up in the infamous "slinky knot" after an HOUR.
My wild twosome are not yet worthy of this masterpiece, I am afraid...
I think the metal slinkies (the original ones...like the one in your picture) are better than the colorful plastic ones. Remember when they came out with the "hot color" slinkies? They never worked as good as the metal ones.
Oh, remember the Clackers? The glass balls on the end of the rope. You could clack them together moving the rope up and down. Most of them ended up on the electrical and telephone wires near the street lamps.
