Summer Breeze

There is a time every year when I sense that the weather "clicks." The last day of freezing temperatures, the final frost, the last real opportunity for snow. My feeling is, that day was Tuesday, here.

It frosted Tuesday morning, and the temperature was about 30. It had been around that temperature for several days prior, and I think that will be the last extended period of cold weather we will have. Call it my meteorological mastery, call it my vast knowledge of, and connection with, nature. Shit, call it a guess... which it is.

But I'm telling you, spring and summer are here to stay. The yard will soon green up, and not just in the areas where Regis pees. The trees will bud, flowers will awaken, and minds will again move toward those sweet summer thoughts... like cleaning the gutter, mowing the goddamn grass and washing the dirty-ass car.

Oh, and steak on the grill.

Damn I love summer.

I'll need directions to your place Dave. I want a bite of that steak too!

The only thing I didn't prepare on the plate were the green beans. The corn was cooked on the grill in aluminum foil. The steaks were marinated in a solution of ingredients which only I know.

I will be happy to cook a steak for anyone who is close enough to come by. Email me for directions, I am free all weekend!

Ouch. You sure know how to twist a knife. Well, we cook steaks out here too. I'll just cook my own.

My home town growing up was like that, you could just walk outside and tell one day from the next that a season had ended and another had begun...I am thrilled this year to see spring coming.

Today was GORGEOUS, huh?

We did the convertible, the park with the kiddies... and tonight it's grilling on the deck!!!!!

But you know Dave, cold front tonight.

M-effer.

Love the landscaping by the way. Beautisimo.

You know, "close by" is all in the eye of the Mapquest holder. You may get more houseguests than you bargained for.

And, I take my steak the way I take my men...

Medium RARE, please.

*why did that sound funnier in my head?*

Looks yummy and all ... but isn't that like a half pound of beef on that plate?

I love your snow pictures. One question though ... don't you BBQ all year long? I live in New England and I do! No reason you can't pop that grill out once a week and slap some teryaki salmon on that puppy. Saturday nights are our BBQ night here ... sometimes, if I just don't feel like cooking during the week, we'll do up some dogs and beans.

Snow and BBQ go VERY nicely together.
