Dave's Friday Photo

This is a guy's paradise. A couple of houses ago, I designed and planned, and a contractor built, this media room. My friend Gary did the woodwork.

I will build an exact replica of this in a future house because it was the primo place to watch a movie or spend a football weekend. (the bar was right behind, just out of the picture) Being just one person, I don't need that much house anymore... but I still have the surround system, HD big screen and the furniture for watching football*, the Man Show and Old School.

That does look like a fun place to spend a weekend. Or a month.

Hey honey! That is an awesome room. I can tell you that I doubt it will be "just one person" forever. You seem like a great person, and someone would be lucky to have you.

Nice media room! Have yourself a spanking weekend, Dave. (not as in fish spanking, just as in great fun, good food and no hangovers)

So cozy! I like the touch of using musical instruments in your decor.

A guy's paradise? No mini-fridge? No Hooter's girls?

Dave, this media room is really awesome. Not only did Gary do a great job with the woodwork on the cabinet, it's nicely decorated as well. I like that it's clean and not all ornate looking. I used to work in a place that did specialized woodworking and I've seen some beautiful work. I love me some wood. The smell of sawdust even does it for me.

My husband would probably trade both me and our son for a room like that.

On an unrelated note, you asked about good restaurants in the Dallas area. I'm sure there are a ton, but I'm a huge Mi Cocina fan. However, it's great Tex-Mex, not authentic Mexican food. If you're interested in a bigger chain restaurant that you maybe don't have in your hometown, Carrabbas is a great Italian grill and The Keg has great steaks. But then again, I go to Dallas from time to time but don't actually live there, so I'm no authority on Dallas restaurants. I live about 30 minutes away. But if you decide to go to Mi Cocina, you have to have a margarita. Holy crap, those are great. And I don't usually like margaritas.
